The sacred nine-eyed Tibetan Dzi beads are considered magical objects by Tibetans. They are believed to have magical and protective powers, and are worn as jewelry or used in religious rituals or to adorn temple statues. Nine-eyed Dzi beads are particularly rare and prized, and can be worth thousands of dollars (in the case of antique Dzi in perfect condition). Dzi beads are believed by legend to have been formed by raindrops that merged with agate stones. Tibetans believe
that these pearls were created by the gods to protect human beings
against evil spirits and bring peace and prosperity.
